Hello.

I have HP EliteBook 840 G1 with i7 CPU.

It has 1600x900 cracked display. I want to replace it. Can I replace it with 1920x1080 display? Just because these are easier to find and I can also upgrade my screen to better one since I still need to replace it.

I have it disassembled right now and just trying to find confirmation that these displays are compatible before I place an order for Full HD display.

Also, I am curious if screens from HP EliteBook 840 G3 are compatible with G1? Those are much easier to find and actually screens for G3 are cheaper.

Thank you.

I also found a thread here answering some of my questions, but not all:

Answering back myself, but might help someone in the future.

I purchased another display on eBay for 25$ and it did work perfectly! It fit exactly like original screen, same size, same connector, same frame with holes for pins and screws.

Here is the item: HP EliteBook 14" 840 G3 FHD 30 Pin LCD Display N140HGE-EA1 REV C3

So now I am upgraded from my cracked 1600x900 to "like new" 1920x1080 display 😃
