Hopefully any day now. We sent two of our affected G7 models to the United States for investigation. Got a reply from them 2 days ago asking how to replicate this issue. Hopefully that doesn't mean they can't replicate the same issue or it could be a high resolution problem. Cause we have tested multiple monitors but they have one thing in common, all have pretty high resolutions (5120x1440).

Fixed in newest version 1.12.00 (Rev A) released 3 days ago. Tested on multiple models and monitors on the G7 series.

I have the same problem. I have updated the BIOS to 1.12.00 released 2/14/2023. The USB C ports on HP Elitebook G7 are still not working properly. Connecting to HP Thunderbolt Dock G4 and HP monitor using DP and/or HDMI and/or USB C none work with HP Elitebook. In addition, USB-C ports, one fails to retain ethernet connection through the dock, the other does not. Neither USB C will maintain the monitor connection through the dock. Connecting HDMI to Elitebook and direct to monitor works. Using Dell laptop to connect to HP Thunderbolt Dock G4 (same dock, same config, same everything works. The Elitebook does not work with the dock. The USB C ports on the Elitebook appear to be unreliable. All drivers updated. Second Elitebook has the exact same problem! HP Support has not been helpful so far.

Did you try the hard reset (holding down the power button for ages - 20 / 30 seconds or more I think) since you made the latest update? It has not actually returned for me since I did this and maybe it will not return at all if the new firmware is installed.

Just a thought and worth a try I think.
