HP ENVY 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-cr0000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

I replaced the cracked glass of the screen, but as a result I got a very bright white screen with barely visible content, which I can see under a steep angle. External monitor works fine. I did number of tests that did not find anything wrong.

What I need to do to get the screen working properly again?

Hi @Irwin6,

Thank you for your response, but updating the BIOS and Firmware with the HP Support Assistant (all went fine), did not help resolving my issue.

I also suspect it is a hardware problem, so I ordered a new screen, coming tomorrow. I thought I could avoid replacing the screen.

Hi @tashkov,

A white screen with partially visible content often points to a hardware issue.

When you receive the new screen, carefully install it.
