HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0800no
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi

I have the HP Envy x360 laptop 13 and bought a wide monitor, the LG 38WP85C. The HP Envy has only a USB-C and that is what I have connected between the laptop and the screen. The problem is that the monitor and laptop screen keeps flashing when they get connected. Like when the screen resets to a new monitor connection, but it keeps happening repeatedly. Sometimes I can sit up to an hour or two to watch a movie without any issues, but most times it continually keeps flashing within seconds. Now as you might understand this unbearable, and I am attempting to fix it.

I have search about the issue and found others having the same problem. The usual response is to update drivers. Something I have done by using the HP support assistant and uninstalled the drivers manually from device manager first.

I am starting to worry that the laptop is not compatible with the monitor unless there are anyone with a fix?

I'm currently experiencing the same issue.  I wonder if it has anything to do with the latest update.  It's incredibly annoying.  After researching this issue and following the recommended troubleshooting steps (un-/reinstalling devices, updating drivers, running diagnostics, etc.), the issue persists.  What's more, it seems to be affecting USB-C charging, as well, because in addition to the blinking monitor, I'm repeatedly receiving notifications that my laptop has stopped charging.
