Hello,
I am really bummed out about this to the point to where I do not think I will purchase an HP product again nor will I recommend them to anyone. I generally recommend HP despite what some people may say about the products but after this situation I will be done unless HP is willing to assist me. I purchased this Envy x360 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop. This machine has hardly been used. It has sat on a desk for it's whole life and only used for taxes and a few random web browsing sessions. Yesterday, I opened up the laptop and heard some horrific crunching sounds. Then I noticed shards of glass shooting everywhere as I opened it up, I am honestly really lucky none of the glass shot into my eye... But the left hinge ripped through the threaded inserts for the fasteners causing the display to crack and begin to fall off on the left side. The digitizer is ruined causing random 'touch' clicks everywhere all over the screen. I managed to hold the display in a certain position so it would not touch and click things long enough for me to disable the touch input driver. I work on and with computers a ton. I run a small side business for computer building and repair. I have purchased and recommended HP products for the last 20 years and I have never come across such a poorly designed mechanism by HP. I know that this laptop did not suffer any falls or misuse in any way. It has simply failed due to poor design. I truly would like to have something done about this despite the warranty period being passed, I see that I am not the only one who has experience this problem, there are many others that have the same issue in fact. Please, HP. I truly hope that you are willing to help me here. I have stood by HP products for decades purchasing whole desktops, printers, laptops for my whole family, and recommending them to friends and relatives. I cannot recommend something that has failed with such minimal use.Glass launching off of the display
