Is it an  HP Laptop 17-cn0065cl machine ? Its specs

            https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c07931226

It ONLY has 1 hopeless SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

Other option (USB-A dock) :   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05357751

I have another HP laptop with USB Type-C, and I can connect a second monitor using USB Type-C 3.2 without any issues. However, on my Hp-pavilion laptop, it doesn't work. My Hp-pavilions is only two years old What could be the reason behind this?
