I am having the exact same problem.  I have included a photo of the shadow - it looks like a triangle on the bottom (somewhat center) of the screen.  This just started in the last day or so.  Please help.  HP Pavilion 27xi.jpg

And none of the suggestions in the KB article are appropriate to this problem.

@magsman

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Do check if the same appears when using a different set of cables and also on a different monitor with the same set of cables. This should help you narrow down the issue to either the monitor or the cables or the software.

Also, let's try a reset here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01684768

Let me know if this helps.

I have tried different cables and switched monitors - all with no change.  The link you provided was how to do a reset to a laptop, I doubt that is what you meant. I have however performed a factory reset on the monitor and it did not help either.

So it isn't the cables and it isn't any factory reset settings.  Does this mean it is the hardware and if so what does that mean for me?

I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team as this could be a hardware issue with the Monitor.
