Can these be refurbed with newer windows and bat or cut my losses as it was bought in 2007 and wanted to give it a boostbqck to life

I don't know where you can find a battery for that model series in Ireland, but unless you have a Windows 10 product key you can use, you would have to pay a lot of money for one and the notebook was only supported by HP for Windows Vista.

 

You can usually use the Vista drivers on W10 but there may be instances where things may not work correctly--especially if the model has a webcam.

 

Here is the service manual, where you can find the battery part number in chapter 3.

Personally, I do not believe it is worth putting any money into a notebook that old if you have to pay for W10.
