Pavillion 15 Gaming PC

I closed the top of my laptop just like any other day - and heard a crack.  I opened it and it felt like gravel was in the hinge.  Small plastic pieces and some small metal pieces fell out in my lap.

[edit] The first attempt, they said I should call another number.  Nope, tried again hoping for another agent, and they said their system was down and to call back on Monday (it was Friday at 1 p.m.).  Nope, tried again hoping for another agent.  This time, got a nice guy named Anton that listened and then explained that I could return it and they would fix it - for $300-$400 (for an $800 PC)!  He said I should have purchased the extended warrantly.

I am not sure how our warranty doesn't cover something that is clearly a defective part.  The PC doesn't travel, it's not been dropped. Anyone else had this experience? 2019-04-05 14.13.44.jpg2019-04-05 14.13.44.jpg2019-04-05 14.14.01.jpg

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
