HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-f1000 (508S1AV)

Hi, I have a HP Rechargeable MPP2.0 Tilt Pen and I downloaded the HP Pen Control software but it appears "Sorry, HP Pen Control is not compatible with this computer. My computer is a HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-f1000 and I have Windows 11. The pen is fully charged and I already installed the VC redist x86, I already updated all features of windows and I also updated BIOS, firmware and chipsets drivers. I also restarted the computer and in the microsot store it says that the software is compatible. Thanks for your time.

Hi @BryIHM,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you've taken several steps to troubleshoot the issue with the HP Pen Control software on your HP Spectre x360 laptop running Windows 11. Since you've already updated drivers, BIOS, firmware, and checked compatibility, let's explore a few additional steps to try and resolve the problem.

Reinstall HP Pen Control:

  • Uninstall the existing HP Pen Control software from your computer.
  • Download the latest version of HP Pen Control from the official HP website.
  • Install the software again and check if the issue persists.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your Windows 11 operating system is fully updated.
  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any pending updates.

Driver Updates:

  • Verify that all your drivers, including graphics and touchscreen drivers, are up to date. Visit the HP support website for your laptop model and download the latest drivers if needed.

Compatibility Mode:

  • Right-click on the HP Pen Control executable file.
  • Select "Properties."
  • Go to the "Compatibility" tab.
  • Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose a previous Windows version like Windows 10.
  • Click "Apply" and then "OK."
  • Try running HP Pen Control again.

Run as Administrator:

  • Right-click on the HP Pen Control executable file.
  • Select "Run as administrator" and see if it launches without issues.

Check for Firmware/Driver Updates for the Pen:

  • Ensure that the pen itself has the latest firmware or driver updates. This information can typically be found on the HP support website for your specific pen model.

Alternative Software:

  • Consider using the built-in Windows Ink Workspace or other compatible applications to see if the pen functions correctly without HP Pen Control.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
