Hello,
just recently my new HP Probook x360 G8 arrived, and it works like a charme. I use the probook (G8, Ryzen 5 and AMD GPU) with OS Windows 10, updated by HP Support Assistant and Windows Update to the latest, with a (quite old, I have to admit) HP Elite USB-C Dock G3.
However, when connecting with the HP USB-C Elite Dock (G3), I face issues with (any of) the video ports (namely HDMI or DP) at the dock. The USB-Hub, Charging and Network interface works fine, however no display attached to the dock is even recognized (not via HDMI, not via DisplayPort, not via converters to VGA.).
When operating the monitor directly from the Probook's HDMI, no issues occur, so it seems that the USB-C to Dock connection is the issue here. As I read from the docs, both the Probook and the Dock should support Displayport 1.4 (or so) Alt mode via USB-C. Is there an incompatibility between the devices or hidden switch in my OS/device manager, to tell the Probook to actually use the Alternate mode?
Best regards and Thanks in advance,
benjo

Hello again,
it appears a defective USB-C cable was the issue - with the interchanged cable, the USB-Dock works as intended. This means its a good alternative to the (smaller) USB-Dock for travel sold by HP, since it offers more ports (USB/DP) and looks (personally speaking) nicer.
Best Regards
