Hi,
I just bought a HP Spectre 15 with a Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics. I've got a three-screen external display setup (1x 1920x1080, 2x 1024x1080), just wondered if you know whether this laptop can support connecting to all three screens whilst still rendering for the main laptop screen?
I found a usb-c to 2x displayport adapter and a usb-c to displayport cable on Amazon I was going to use if this scenario was supported.
Thanks!

Thank you for posting on HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I see from your post you need information and assistance regarding multi monitor support on your HP spectre notebook. Don't worry I'll be glad to assist you.
After reviewing your post thoroughly, I did go through the Product specifications and found that your PC was shipped with 2 Thunderbolt™ 3 (Data Transfer up to 40 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge); 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (HP Sleep and Charge); 1 HDMI; 1 headphone/microphone combo.
Here's the Maintenance and Service guide of your HP notebook, on the right side, you have 2 USB Type C port through which you can connect an external monitor using Display port output and you have 1 HDMI port available on your PC.
Regarding the resolution, you should be able to get the resolution, which you are looking for.
Note: Please ensure you purchase HP compatible adapter, for more details, please go through this support document for - HP PCs, Tablets and Accessories - Using USB Type-C to Transfer Power and Data
I hope this answers your question, do let me know if you need any further assistance.
that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,

Hi Jeet,
Thank you for the help, I've tried as you suggested but I can't get it to work, unfortunately. Not sure if it's maybe a problem with my choice of cables?
Two of my monitors have a DVI output only. I have existing DVI to DisplayPort cables, which I have then connected to a (female) DisplayPort to USB-C connector and plugged them into the side of my laptop, but neither screen is being detected, regardless of which USB-C slot I use.
Earlier, I tried using an adapter which had two DisplayPort inputs to one USB-C connector and this didn't work neither. The only scenario that worked for me was for a different monitor that had a DisplayPort output to USB-C.
Should this work? Any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks!
Ciaran

Thank you for replying,
After reviewing your post thoroughly, I see this looks like an issue with the adapter, however, I would suggest here is to try uninstalling the display drivers.
Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.
Check the box that states delete the software for this device.
Restart the computer and then update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Eagerly waiting for your response!

Hi Jeet, thanks again for the help!
Unfortunately, I'm having not much luck yet! Like you said, I uninstalled both graphics drivers and reinstalled them from the links you provided on the HP Support website then I tried again with my cables.
I have tried 4 adapters in total.
For my older Samsung monitors, I have DVI to DisplayPort cables which I have tried with the following adapters:
* 2x Female DisplayPort to USB-C adapter (from my monitor I have a DVI to DisplayPort cable)
- For this option, no external screens render.
* 1x double DisplayPort to USB-C adapter (from my monitors I have DVI to D)
- For this option, only one external screen renders (frustratingly, this adapter cost me almost £70)
Would the age of the monitors or the fact that they are outputting to DVI have any impact on why they aren't fully working?
For my newer BenQ monitor though, it seems to be working fine with a DisplayPort to USB-C adapter. I've also successfully been able to use my Female DisplayPort to USB-C adapter to connect to my BenQ monitor.
I'm a bit lost on what the problem could be, but something I might try next is purchasing a DVI to USB-C connector - surely with a direct connection between my monitor and laptop with no other adapters or cables in the way it might work. I'll give it a go, and post back here with an update soon.
Thanks for the help!

Hi Jeet,
Would you be able to provide clarification on the maximum supported resolution or maximum number of screens that are supported?
I recently returned the other cables which weren't working and I have got new DVI to USB-C cables going directly from my monitors to my laptop, and this time all the monitors are able to connect up successfully. The problem is though is that I can only output to any 3 of the 4 monitors. In the Windows Display settings, one of the monitors is always greyed out and disconnected. Once I select that monitor and choose to extend my display to the monitor, it causes one of the other monitors to disconnect.
Is this a limitation of the laptop?
I notice in the display settings which I click 'Display adapter properties', it shows the 'Intel HD Graphics 630' adapter.
UPDATE:
I checked out the Intel specifications for my CPU (8705G here) and it says that up to 6 monitors are supported. I'm only using 4. Any idea what the problem is?
Thanks!

It's great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
I see you are having concern connecting multiple monitors. In this scenario, I would suggest you go through the Maintenance and service guide of your notebook and it shows you can connect upto 3 monitors.
According to the specs I would suggest yoTake care now and do have a fabulous week ahead. 🙂
Regards,u can try to connect 3 monitors, 2 using USB Type C and one using HDMI,
you can try multiple unless you are connecting through docking station or through additional card.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be moer than happy to help you.
