Hello,
I have a HP elitebook 855 g8 with a ryzer 7 chip. I also have a few displays, with most the hdmi and usb-c work. USB-C to HDMI to USB C works fine, HDMI to DVI and VGA works fine. However USB-C to VGA does not work. I have tried the display with HDMI and it works, I have tried the USB-C to VGA adaptor with another PC and it works. Thus, the cable works, the converter works, the port is display ready. This only leaves the software on the laptop as the culprit. Is this a known issue? Any fixes?
I've tried restarting with the USB-C plugged in, only connecting the USB-C, disconnecting and reconnecting, reinstalling the Ryzen drivers using deivce manager etc.

Its specs

It has (2) USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C 10 Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort 1.4) ports. You can use a compatible USB-C to DP or HDMI adapter to connect to external monitor. You also can use USB-C to USB-C monitor.
USB-C to VGA is out of question, you need a proper conversion process because VGA uses analog signals.
Regards.

Thanks for your reply Banhien, however this would very much surprise me as I'm writing this reply on a usb-C to VGA connection using a different monitor. Besides just because a signal is analogue compared to digital doesn't exclude it from working right? I'm no expert just an electrical engineer but it would surprise me if this was the solution. If you want proof I'd be glad to supply you
