Hi,
Just got the envy 13 aq0xxx which is supposed to have display port over the usb c port, I am trying to connect my usb c asus zenscreen monitor but it won't stay on, it keeps connecting and disconnecting. I know the monitor is fine as it's working on my acer swift 3 laptop which doesn't even have dp over usb c.
Is there a limitation to that port? anything I can do to get this working?
At the moment, I am thinking or returning the laptop also as I get less power than my previous laptop on I5 8250 with 8gb ram, this one is a i7 8565 with 16gb ram and is not performing as good!!

@yan_nofx Welcome to HP Community!
I suggest you perform an extensive hardware test to identify the cause of the failure, also check with an alternate display cable known to work on another device and if the issue persists, ensure this device is equipped to support display over USB Type-C by clicking here for details.
Install the latest version of the HP Hardware diagnostics (UEFI) on your device using this link: Click here for details
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
- Click Extensive Test.
- Click Run once, or Loop until error.
- While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.
If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.
Let me know how that pans out,

Thanks for your reply,
In the end I got a new Usb-c cable and then the monitor worked right away, strange though that the previous cable worked on my older Acer laptop and this one refused any connection. Anyway this is solved.
Thanks for your suggestions,
Now I still have throttling issues to solve, I tried to play a game and this was very stranged, I kept monitoring the memory, cpu and Gpu, everything staying around 40% at all time, and the game would have very low FPS, the cpu is just not kicking in to give the power it should, is there a way to improve this, will there be an update to the HP command center? this thermal profile selector is very bad.

@yan_nofx I'm glad the USB Type-C issue is sorted, that said, please perform the hardware tests to identify what's causing the slow/low performance issues as well,
If the hardware tests pass, also I should let you know that the CPU is system managed and cannot be tweaked manually, if you have low FPS, I suggest using the below steps to resolve the issue:
- Update the graphics card driver
- Increase the amount of RAM - by increasing the shared memory under system properties > Advanced > Performance settings > Advanced > Change Virtual memory > use the recommended file size for paging.
- Make sure the graphics card is not in power saving mode - If you are after maximum performance of you Intel HD Graphics, make sure you have turned off all of its power saving features. That is why in order to achieve maximum performance you have to make sure that your Windows power plan is not on Power Saver, you can use the Balanced or the High Performance power plan. You can also click the Intel HD Graphics driver tray icon (it should be near the clock in the taskbar), select Graphics Properties, then click the Power tab and select Maximum Performance.

Please, note that although this tip will certainly improve your Intel HD Graphics' performance it will also increase the power it draws, as well as the heat it generates under heavy load (which is the case for games). Caution is advised, especially if you are on a laptop that experiences temperature problems.
- Set the 3D preference of Intel HD Graphics to "Performance" - This trick will help you improve the frame rate in games. To apply it click the Intel HD Graphics driver tray icon, select Graphics Properties, then click the 3D tab and move the slider to Performance. In this way, you sacrifice a bit of image quality for improved 3D performance, which should lead to a few more frames per second (FPS)
If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
