Hi @Pmehta92,
Thanks for replying,
I understand that you have finally diagnosed the issue to be with the AC adapter, and you are looking for more details in using a different adapter, I'll be more than glad to help you with this,
Answering to your first question,
Yes, you could go ahead and use a compatible adapter which should work.
Second question,
You cannot use a 65W AC Adapter in place of a 90W AC Adapter as this will not only decrease the performance of your PC, as well as it might take a long time to charge.
I hope I have answered all your questions. Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,
It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

Hi @Pmehta92,
Thank you for replying,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
Before you come to any conclusion, considering the second link was dead or didn't work for you
I would suggest you try these steps which should help to diagnose the issue and confirm if its a hardware issue.
Let's start the troubleshooting by Perform a Hard Reset on the notebook
Symptoms: Battery power LED off, and Caps Lock/Num Lock off
Possible failure: AC adapter not connected or failure / Battery low charge or failure
If the battery power LED and the LEDs near the Num Lock and Caps Lock keys do not glow when the computer is disconnected from the AC adapter, then the battery has a very low charge or is not charged at all. Try the following two procedures for diagnosing the power issue:
Charge the battery:
Use the following steps to charge the battery.
1. Connect the AC power adapter, and verify that the battery power LED glows.
2. Allow the battery to charge for 15 - 30 minutes.
3. Attempt to start the computer.

If the issue persists, It could be a system board issue, I would recommend you contact our HP phone support for further assistance or contact a local store nearby at your own discretion.

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

The problem is in my ac adapter. It is burned with high voltage. I don't know how. But now new problem arises. I didn't find original HP 90 w (19volt and 4.74 amp current) ac adapter in my locality. Now my
First question is can I use compatible adapter with same specification i.e. 19 volt and 4.74 amp current
Or I go to HP original 65 W (18.5 volt and 3.54 amp current)
Second question is what is the main difference in 90 w and 65 volt ac adapter. Is both works for my laptop?
Somewhere on internet I read that if 65 w ac adapter is used instead of 90 w, performance of laptop may decrease. Is it true?
Thanx for your valuable support....
