Hi Thank you for the solution :-
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4anss3sqpf7xcmt/AABByqeexHCmuUK7hzpb7wI2a?dl=0
offered in the link above. I tried so many different solutions that simply didn't work.
I have 2 HP Elite x 2 computers both were affected by the latest Win 10 update.
I followed your instructions in the link above on my Laptop first, as I am not very tech minded I did so with some trepidation, updating the Bios was very scary, I didn't want to render my computer useless!
However all was good, and after the final reboot voila camera was back. Thank you very much.
Not so successful with my wifes computer though as I tried to repeat the procedure only to find that i was required to enter a password for the Bios before it would update which I have no idea of.Funny that I didn't need a password for my computer.
So I skipped the Bios update & just did the rest, unfortunately it did not work, clearly the bios update is an essential part of this fix.
Any advice on how to find bios password would be equaly appreciated.

Hi,
I have an elite x2 which have the exact same problem, tried refreshing windows, reintalled driver, update bios, none worked.
Until Racy2U who himself have the same problem and tagged me and told me that jpStormcrow has provided a solution workaround. Tried it and work like charm!
Luckily I tried this workaround before I send in my tablet for warranty as HP Support told me to do so.
Thank you all !

BIOS passwords have to be set manually, they do not come set from the factory. I would assume either it was set accidentally or you bought your tablet second hand and it has a supervisor password set. I would try the basics 0000, 1234, etc but you may need to contact HP to get your BIOS flashed...

I am glad I could assist everyone with your tablets! I wish HP would get on this and get a real fix out - I love these tablets and I dont want them to get a bad reputation due to HP not being on the ball with driver patches. Shame on them!

Hi jp Stormcrow, Thanks, Thanks & Thanks again !
The amount of time I had wasted trying to fix this problem was considerable & to come across your "fix" that was so nicely bundled into a complete package, with clear instructions that actually worked was a godsend.
Yes my wifes Elite X 2 needed a password because the vendor had set one, which I was able to obtain & now my wifes computer has camera too. Hence thank you again.
"Mate" put up your Paypal pay in & I'll shout you something nice in appreciation.

Tried to post my own thread to showcase the fix to HELP HP's customers that they can not seems to be able to help and I was silenced, once my an edit and then again by a delete.
HP not only dropped the ball, they're now removing my fix from helping others. Cool beans.
