Hp Envy ah0043tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Previously I use fn +f1 to turn on privacy screen but from the few day back that feature stopped working.
I've also tried updating all the drivers and windows but still then it's not working.
Also when I turn on my laptop after few hrs of shut down I feel like the privacy screen turn on but as the time passes it fades away automatically...
I think this is a serious problem because sometimes when I open something for a long time I saw its shadow on the screen after removing it from the screen
And after the window update my device is also getting heat up.
Please help

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Note: HP Sure View can only be used on notebooks that came with an HP Sure View privacy panel installed.
Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05244554 to know more about "Using the HP Sure View Integrated Privacy Screen"

Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: ( do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating )

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

And, also run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thak you for posting back,

Have you tried Function + F2 key?

There is no software available for HP Sure View Integrated Privacy Screen.

yes I've tried but for my laptop it's bound for lowering the brightness.

Now I'm more clear with the problem is whenever I'm turning on the screen after a long time (either after a shut down or from sleep) my screen is opening with the privacy screen turned on but as the time passes the privacy screen fades away and the screen becomes normal. Also the Fn + f1 button is not working.

Thank you for posting back.

Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to complete functional test of the keyboard and identify any problems with the hardware.

NOTE: Bluetooth devices are not currently supported.
  1. Download the latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.

  2. In Windows, search for and right-click HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows, and then select Run as administrator.

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows as an administrator

  3. Click Component Tests, click Input Devices, and then select the Keyboard Test.

    Running the Keyboard Test

  4. Click Run once to begin the test.

The test ends when you complete the tasks or after 3 minutes.

For more information about using the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows, go to HP PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks, I tried this but it doesn't work either. My keyboard is working well. I guess the problem is either with the machine level programming of the SURE VIEW because I'm facing this problem since I press the on button or the screen. There is also an sure view app on Microsoft store but I'm not able to download it It says my device is incompatible.
