I am now experiencing random keys that do not respond to a single press and often take many strokes

Good evening! Thank You in advance for your help. This posting concerns an HP :LAPTOP Model 15 bs 060 WM -- It was purchased in mid 2018 - has an  i 3 processor, 8 gb of RAM 64 bit os  running Windows 10 PRO Version 22H2 installed on 10/12/20.  I have had excellent results from this unit-- it has been well cared for, never dropped, or dinged, nor ever gotten wet, or been in any extreme temperatures.  I operate it every day, and doing a lot of Excel work, WORD, and email.  

Last weekend when I began working I noticed that the   7   key  in the  number keypad area was not responding to being pressed.  Even a 2nd or 3rd press produced nothing..... so I held the key down...and it finall responded.  It was the only key on the keyboard  that I experienced that with.  I checked to make sure there was no damage to the key, or the are around it....I do not eat food, or drink around it so there was no particles of anything near the key.  So I went around the problem by

using the   7   button on the main keyboard above the  y  and  u  keys..... and once in a while would try it again.....sometimes I could press it repeatedly and get no response....sometimes holding it down would eventually make it work, but it was nothing I  ould count on.  At some point later  the  m  key began to do the same thing..... and then the   b  key   came down with that problem....and so now I have a laptop that is really unusable, and has developed this very strange behavior for seeming  no reason, all out of the blue.  I did read up on it a little....I did check and I do have the most current driver available.  Please, if you have experienced this, know what it is, and what the solve is, please share with me.   It certainly is a mystery to me.  Thank you again, in advance for helping me out here.   I did veryify that what I was experiencing was not a wait time issue from a slow or stopping internet connection.... the Excel version I was using  is NOT the on line  365 version, but rather one that exists on this laptop so there should be little or no delay in key response.

I understand that you are getting issues with certain keys, I am glad to assist you.

Did you check with an alternate user account or an external keyboard to check if all the keys on that work? 

I recommend the below steps: 

Clean the keyboard with compressed air (blow compressed air in the gaps between keys). This removes some lint and dust.  

Shut down the laptop, remove the battery and cable for a moment, press and hold the start button for 60 seconds 

Replace the battery, restart the notebook, 

if the issue persists, change the keyboard layout and check if it works: Click here for steps.
