Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Yes, you can connect a second screen to your HP Laptop 15-fc0xxx using a USB to HDMI adapter, but it depends on whether your laptop supports DisplayLink technology or USB-C Alt Mode.
Steps to Connect a Second Screen:
1. Check USB Port Compatibility
- If your laptop has a USB-C port, check if it supports DisplayPort Alt Mode (some models do, some don’t).
- If using USB-A, you’ll need a DisplayLink-certified USB-to-HDMI adapter.
2. Use a DisplayLink Adapter
- Install the latest DisplayLink drivers from DisplayLink’s official site.
- Connect the USB to HDMI adapter to your laptop.
- Plug the HDMI cable into the external monitor.
3. Adjust Display Settings
- Open Settings → System → Display.
- Click Detect under Multiple Displays.
- Set the display mode to Extend or Duplicate.
4. Try a USB-C Hub (if applicable)
- If your laptop has USB-C, use a USB-C hub with HDMI output.
- Connect the hub to your laptop and plug in the HDMI cable.
