Hello there! I recently purchased a new HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 laptop a month ago. Yesterday it got stuck in the automatic repair mode and today i reset it by to shop I’ve bought it from, they reinstalled the windows but now I can’t see the tablet mode in settings under display. There’s no rotation lock in the action center, when i fold my laptop it doesn’t go into the tablet mode, however the touch screen still works but it’s still not in the tablet mode and I can’t use it as a tablet. Please help me out! I’ll highly appreciate It. Thanks

Hi @Alex833,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've installed Windows on your HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 laptop and can't see the tablet mode in settings, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
Check for Updates: Ensure that Windows is up to date. Sometimes, updates can fix bugs or add missing features. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
Restart the Device: A simple restart can sometimes resolve minor glitches. Restart your laptop and see if the tablet mode option appears after that.
Tablet Mode Shortcut: HP laptops often have a physical button or a keyboard shortcut to toggle tablet mode. Check your laptop's manual or HP's official website to find the specific button or shortcut for your model.
Update Drivers: Outdated or incorrect drivers can cause compatibility issues. Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your laptop, especially drivers related to touch and display functionality.
HP Software Updates: HP might have specific software utilities that control features like tablet mode. Check if there are any HP-specific updates or utilities related to tablet mode on their official support website.
Tablet Mode Settings: Sometimes, the option to enable tablet mode might be hidden or not easily accessible. To find it, open the Settings app, go to System, and then choose Tablet mode from the left sidebar. Make sure the "Make Windows more touch-friendly" setting is turned on.
Reset Tablet Mode Settings: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the tablet mode settings. Open the Command Prompt as an administrator and enter the following command:
reg delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell /v TabletMode /f
After entering the command, restart your laptop and check if the tablet mode settings have reappeared.
Check Group Policy Settings: In some cases, group policy settings might affect the availability of tablet mode. If you're using Windows Pro or Enterprise, you can use the Group Policy Editor to check if any policies are affecting the tablet mode feature.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
