Hi @Venus5203,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

HP Laptop - 15-ef1041nr with the 5 long red, 3 short white blink code, which signals a BIOS communication issue: The 5 long red and 3 short white LED blink pattern indicates the Embedded Controller (EC) is unable to reach the BIOS in the expected time frame. This usually points to a firmware-level or hardware initialization issue.

1. Perform a Hard Reset (No Accessories Connected)

  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove any USB devices, memory cards, or accessories.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter (without battery if removable), and try to turn the laptop on.

2. Try a BIOS Restore.
1) Shut down the computer, keep the charger plugged in

2) Hold down the Windows + B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.

3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.

4) Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
