My ENVY All in One has a possessed cursor that jumps to one area of the screen. Even though the touchscreen is disabled, the touchscreen works in the area it jumps to. This makes it next to impossible to work! Can anyone offer any solutions?

@leferforge Attempt using an alternate/external mouse.
(If that works when the touchpad is disabled on device manager, it would mean that it's a touchpad failure,
However, if the external mouse doesn't work either, it could be a software/driver issue).
Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your mouse:
Go to the Device Manager and select your mouse. Uninstall it and then restart your computer. During restart, your mouse driver will automatically be reinstalled.
- 1. Click on Start and type ‘Device Manager’.
- 2. Click Device Manager.
- 3. Click + sign next to Mouse.
- 4. Right-click on mouse entry and choose "uninstall".
- 5. Restart your computer.

@leferforge If you've already tried with alternate mouse and yet the issue persists, perhaps, you could tell me if the drivers were reinstalled as suggested earlier? If not, please do the same and if that's done, though you've got no positive results, I suggest we perform a system restore (no data loss applicable), followed by creating a new user account profile only to identify if there's a glitch in your current account that's causing this issue.
Keep me posted.

The computer had Windows 10 home and the problem existed then. My computer consultant got rid of that and installed Windows 10 Pro and the problem still exists. Wouldn't this be the same as reinstalling the drivers? I am not trying to be combative, just trying to save me the time to go through the basic troubleshooting scenarios if they are not necessary. This appears to me to be a hardware issue...

@leferforge I totally understand your point, however, if you've tried multiple mouse and they all have the same issue, perhaps, you can check with alternate USB ports, and if the keyboard works fine while the mouse doesn't, this is most likely a software glitch, although, if the keyboard has issues as well, as you mentioned this could be a hardware malfunction within the USB ports, and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,
here's how private messages work: Click here for details.
If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
