Same here. Pavilion X360 13t-s100.

I've tried re-installing graphics drivers, in case it was "included" in that. The webcam just never shows up

I can't remember the last time using the camera, so I don't know when it stopped working or if an update caused the problem.  But I have tried the prescribed troubleshooting.

Thank you for the assistance,

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi Echo_Lake

Sorry for late response.

I was in communication with local HP support. Try lot of different things. After all, get advice to reset laptop on factory settings and I did it, with no help.

Then i get new version of software and advice to delete generic one and install new one. During installation I got message "device not found" and installation is terminated.

HP support advice me to go to service and close my ticket.

now I am looking for service.

I have the same issue.  Tried to follow the power reset instructions, used default BIOS, ran HP Assist, my camera is still not seen.  I just used it yesterday with no issues.  No updates or mods were made, the camera just stopped working.

HP Pavilion 15" model 15-cs0085cl

The laptop is a little over 1 year old, hardly used.

Any help is appreciated!

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

If the issue persists, follow next steps.

Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon .

If the issue persists continue with these steps:

System Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personal files and documents are not affected.

You can also undo a System Restore if the restore does not resolve the issue or if the issue becomes worse.

Thanks Echo,

I found your response on another post about the same problem (there are a lot of them), but the problem persisted.

I found another post that recommended executing a cryptic command on PowerShell (Admin), which I did but didn't appear to help either.

Since i have a sealed battery, I couldn't remove it to perform a power reset.  Holding the power button down for 15s didn't solve the issue either.

So I decided to let the battery run down all the way down to possibly mimic removing the battery.  After letting it drain, I plugged it in, booted, and it worked.  I'm not sure whether running the battery down or performing a reboot after executing the powershell command solved the issue, but the camera works nonetheless.

Thanks for your post,

Paul
