HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c3000 (947N2AV)

HP Laptop 17-cn3454ng (PN: 9P6F2EA) SN: [Personal Information Removed]

Hello,

I tried to connect an external Monitor over HDMI - but the highest Resolution is FullHD (1920x1080).

The HDMI-cable is correct - the Resolution of the intended monitor is 2560x1440

I checked the Bios - there are no further updates with HP Support Assistant

I also tried the newest Intel Graphics driver.

The external Monitor scales to FullHD

Kind regards

Thomas

I found a solution for my friend.

With a USB-A Docking-Station I can select a higher resolution (only over the right USB-A Port)

--> Problem solved !

the real specs:
- 1x USB-C 3.0 (5Gb/s) <-- no Video-signal
- 2x USB-A 3.0 (5Gb/s) <-- Video-signal only over the right USB-Port !
- 1x HDMI 1.4b <-- only FullHD

Infos over the original HP Specs:
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1,0 Type-A; SuperSpeed 5 GBit/s (an jeder Seite einer)
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1.0 Typ-C, SuperSpeed 5 Gbit/s (nur Datenübertragung; Aufladen oder externe Monitore werden nicht unterstützt)
- 1x HDMI v1.4b-Anschluss

... it´s only a consumer-product but I think it´s a shame for HP ;-(

@Steinello

Its specs

           https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/ish_7737425-7737469-16

It has  (1) HDMI v1.4b port (out). In theory it supports higher 1920x1080 resolution but many HP machines support FHD only

... that's a yoke that a new Notebook only supports FullHD

... If I look into the specifications of HDMI 1.4b I can't see any reason why there should be a restriction to FullHD

I did say that  (above) with HDMI 1.4b. Sometimes we have to live with people jokes.

... thank you for the reply

... but I can´t find any information about the FullHD limitation (e.g. Specs)

... sorry, but nevertheless there should be a information about this restriction

Kind regards.

It's good to know you have a work around but just FYI, HP says

          High-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) v.1.4b supporting up to 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz

Regards.
