A while back my camera and microphone stopped working for no reason.
I've checked updates and tried to reverse updates but that hasn't helped.
I also tried updating BIOS, still nothing.
If I use zoom, then I can use an external microphone but not the built in microphone.
I read that other people had a similar problem (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Knowledge-Base/Camera-not-found-on-HP-Spectre-x360-or-HP-ENV...). But on my computer there is no button for it, nor is there an F13 button (Only F1 to F12).
Any idea on how to fix this issue?
Currently using an "HP Spectre x360-13-ae005no" which is the model before the new HP spectre corners. Have to say that I both hate and love this computer. Love the design, the size and the parts, but I hate it because I've had more problems with this computer than all other computers I've owned combined. The screen has been changed twice by support, so at first (before I found the link above) I thought it might be the cable for microphone and camera that is broken.
Anyone know what to do or how to fix the problem? Would be grateful for any help I could get.
Kind regards
Rasmus

Hi @Rasmus123
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I see that you are facing webcam and microphone-related issues on your system. Do not worry, we are here to fix it.
May I know from when are you facing this issue?
Did you make any hardware or software-related changes to it?
Please perform the steps below and let me know the outcome of it:
1. Are you sure your computer has a camera?
Many models of HP computers did not come with webcams. Before you go any further, check and be sure there is a camera lens staring back at you. You can look up the product specifications for your model for confirmation.
If you have an external web cam, try disconnecting it, restarting the PC, and then reconnecting the USB cable. Or try testing it in a different USB port or even a different PC.
2. Look for the Kill Switch
Newer HP laptops have a Kill Switch feature designed to physically disconnect your webcam. This is helpful for preventing bad people from activating your webcam remotely but can be overlooked when trying to use the webcam for video conferencing. If your model has a kill switch, make sure it’s switched on.
3. Try a hard reset
When Windows doesn’t see devices like cameras, sometimes it just needs to be forced to look again. Try a power reset.
Once detected, you should see the camera in the Device Manager. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager. Expand the Cameras section to see your camera.
TIP: You can disable the web cam here in the Device Manager by right-clicking on the camera and select Disable Device. Don’t forget to enable it later if needed.
4. Install the driver
Sometimes Windows needs the latest camera driver for the camera to function well. While in the Device Manager, right-click on your camera and select Update Driver. Then click Search Automatically for updated driver software. The latest driver is always available via Windows Update.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have read your post and I see that you are facing camera and microphone related issues. I also see that screen of your system has been replaced twice.
I am really sorry that you are facing this issue. Please be assured that I will try my best to help you fix the issue.
Also, if you do not have the kill switch on your system, you may skip that step and can perform the remaining steps. Once done, let me know the outcome of it.

Since I can see the camera in device manager a hard reset should not do any difference.
I tried everything else, even tried downloading and installing the latest drivers from the HP website even though the computer claims to have the newest. I assume that the issue has more to do with hardware than with software since none of these things work.
