I am trying to connect 2 external displays to use while I am in the office. I can connect 1 through HDMI port but If I try to add a 2nd through either a USBC-HDMI Splitter or a USBA-HDMI converter it doesn't work. the USBA converter works on an older HP Envy laptop but not on the newer Pavilion laptop. HELP!!!

Your machine is an HP Pavilion 15-cs2064st , its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06316784
It has 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port. You CAN NOT use USB-C HDMI to connect to an external monitor.
If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors, please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few options on market today including some HP products (note: select USB-A connection only):
https://www.displaylink.com/products/universal-docking-stations
or try following HP docks

Thank you so much for your help!!! Looking at the HP document can I use either the G5 or G2 dock? I don't see a USBA option on the G5 and you mentioned to select USBA connection only in the displaylink search.

I did say on my previous reply:(note: select USB-A connection only):
