I am using the HP trouble shooting tools in HP Support Assistant.
Everything looks good.
How can I trouble shoot this problem?
Haas this happened to other people.

I have got exactly the same problem. The screen goes black or staerrts flashing. I do not believe it is a hardware problem. If I start up with BIOS settings, I have not got this problem. When I return to Windows from the BIOS settings menu the problem has dissapeared.
For me it seems to be a Windows 11 or a driver problem. Did anyone else investigate any further?

// The internal display cable that goes from motherboard to screen must be checked or replaced
- The screen has to be checked or replaced //
Are there any HP troubleshooting tools I can run to check what is wrong?

Hello @billfee
(1) Double check with external monitor connected via vga/hdmi cable. Can you see the boot screen/Windows on the external monitor?
- Shutdown notebook
- Power off external monitor
- Connect vga/hdmi cable
- Power on external monitor
- Power on notebook
