My HP envy x360 laptop screen goes black briefly periodically and then comes back on. All I have running is internet, not multiple applications.

Hi @Collzee,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand you're experiencing periodic black screen flickers on your HP Envy x360 16-inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC (16-ac0000) running Windows 11, even with minimal applications in use. We appreciate your patience and are here to help resolve this.
This behavior is typically related to graphics driver conflicts, display refresh settings, or background power optimization features. Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
1: Install the Latest Graphics Driver and BIOS
- Visit the official HP Software and Driver Downloads: HP Envy x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-ac0000 Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.
- Download and install:
- The latest graphics driver
- The latest BIOS update
- Any available firmware or chipset drivers
Restart your laptop after installation.
2: Adjust Display Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Display > Advanced Display Settings.
- Set the refresh rate to 60Hz if it’s higher.
- Disable variable refresh rate:
- Go to Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings > Default Graphics Settings
- Turn off “Variable refresh rate” and “Optimizations for windowed games”
3: Turn Off Hardware Acceleration in Your Browser
If you're using Chrome, Edge, or Firefox:
- Go to browser settings > System.
- Turn off “Use hardware acceleration when available.”
- Restart the browser.
4: Adjust Power Settings
- Open Control Panel > Power Options.
- Select High Performance or Balanced.
- Click Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.
- Under Graphics or Power Management, set all options to Maximum Performance.
- Turn off adaptive brightness, if listed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
