Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand the webcam is zoomed in all the way,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
What exactly do you mean by "everything" could you elaborate in the future, so we don't end up repetitive suggestions?
Did you check with other applications such as Skype or youcam to check if that works?
While you respond to that, here's a few things you can do:
The webcam works, but the image is too dark or the video is choppy.
If the image is too dark, take the following actions:
-
Make sure your video recording environment has good lighting.
-
Change the image quality, brightness, contrast, and other adjustments in the webcam software.
To resolve problems with choppy playback, take the following actions:
-
Reduce the size of the video image in the webcam software.
-
Use a high-speed Internet connection.
-
Do not use other high-speed USB devices while using the webcam.
To troubleshoot other video quality problems, refer to one of the following HP support documents:
-
Improper Lighting and Positioning Can Cause Problems with Webcam Facial-Tracking Function
-
Webcam Remains in Black and White Mode In Normal Ambient Light Environment (HP ENVY 15-1000 Notebook PC series only)
CLICK HERE FOR MORE STEPS AND INSTRUCTIONS.
(by the end of this document, all the issues should be resolved)
If I have helped you resolve the issue,
Feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon
Followed by clicking on 'Accepted as Solution'
And Have a great day ahead!

I am so sorry, I didn't realize you responded to me. By zoomed in all the way, I mean its like you take a zoom lens and zoom it as far as it goes. If I look at my camera, which I have never used before, it will zoom in to so far that nothing is recognizable. It looks like maybe my mouth is blurry and it takes up the whole screen.

I came on here today for another reason. I need a new battery and it is 807956-001. This battery comes in different voltages, is the same voltage battery important?
