I have an USB-c to HDMI cable. It works when I connect my phone to the monitor using this cable. But on my laptop I get no video on my monitor. I checked, and I think my laptop should have video out over this port, as the logo only shows a thunder icon, which means Thunderbolt. Also according to the HP manual, it should be able to provide video output.
Type: HP Elitebook 840 G5 2fa66av
Any ideas?
edit: i googled a bit more, and it seems that in a different HP model, only usb-c to displayport is supported, not usb-c to hdmi. I cannot confirm this is the issue, but I am going to test by ordering a usb-c to displayport adapter.
