Hi @UbaldoN,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for the detailed info, and Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. Here’s how to resolve the display flickering and black screen issues on your HP Envy 15-op0015nl laptop when using Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome:

1. Disable Hardware Acceleration in Browsers

This is the most effective fix for both Edge and Chrome.

For Chrome:

  • Go to Settings > System
  • Turn off “Use hardware acceleration when available”
  • Restart Chrome

For Edge:

  • Go to Settings > System and Performance
  • Turn off “Use hardware acceleration when available”
  • Restart Edge

2. Disable GPU Scheduling in Windows

  • Go to Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings
  • Scroll to Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
  • Turn it off
  • Restart your laptop

3. Create a Chrome Shortcut with GPU Disabled

  • Right-click Chrome shortcut > Properties
  • In the Target field, add: --disable-gpu

Example: "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-gpu

  • Click Apply and restart Chrome

4. Update Graphics Drivers via HP Support

Even if you’ve updated via NVIDIA Studio, try HP’s certified version:

5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart your laptop
  • Press Esc > then F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
  • Run Display Test and System Test

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
