graphics very slow....  any thoughts on win 7 32bit driver? vga and i've done online auto search update but no luck. graphics sometimes locks up if i"m browsing net

Hi:

See if this works...

First, create a system restore point so that you can roll back to the current graphics driver you have installed, just in case the updated driver does not work to your expectations.

Next, download and save the W7 32 bit graphics driver ZIP file for the Intel HD 4000 graphics adapter from the link below.

That would be the last one down on the left side of the page.

Unzip the graphics driver file to its folder. Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

To unzip the file, right click on the graphics driver zip file you downloaded, and select Extract All.

Go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category

Click on the Standard VGA graphics adapter listed there.

Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on Have Disk, and browse to the unzipped graphics driver folder>Graphics>igdlh (setup information file), click Next, and the driver should install.

Be patient, as it can take a few minutes for the driver to completely install.

When the installation is finished, restart the PC.

Thanks yet again...  I had to "install anyway" after wasn't verified. hopefully it'll be better!

You're very welcome.

It should work just fine, and if you installed the chipset installation utility from your notebook's support page, you should now be able to adjust the screen brightness and put the PC in sleep mode now that the graphics driver is installed.

You need both for those things to happen.

Also graphics acceleration should now be enabled.

yes, the switches indeed do work! I needed the chipset prior to the usb troubles I think fixed them. thanks again!!!

If there are any devices remaining in the device manager with little ! marks next to them, those still need drivers.

Let me know what they are, and I will post the links to the drivers you need for those devices.

After you install these drivers, please post the hardware ID's for the remaining devices that need drivers, so I can figure out what drivers they need.
