I keep trying....  but this is the message I receive?

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /pub/softpaq/sp56501-57000/sp56952.exe on this server.

I'm not in private mode or anything..  I receive this message / different numbers on all of the links. do I need to sign up for the svc somewhere?

There is something wrong on your end because the files all download fine for me.

Give me a few minutes and I will download the files, zip them up and upload them to my Skydrive folder and share the link with you.

Then you can download them from there and unzip the file and install the drivers that way.

not sure what it was.... I kept trying and finally got through. maybe slow net svc? i'm running off phone hotspot in middle of nowhere north dakota...  I'm updating drivers now

OK.

If you have any issues let me know, because I am in the process of uploading the driver zip file to my Skydrive folder and it is almost done.

no clue what it was... I'm on one laptop (nearly identical running 64bit) and so I sent the 945 driver link to my problem laptop via network...  was able to open all but the one on this comp. finally able to download the 945 driver on problem laptop and install.

restarted everything, two pop up:

would you have dowload link for simplepass? it is handy having fingerprint reader working

HP Recommended

Hi:

The fingerprint reader isn't going to work until you get that USB\VID_138A&PID_0018, and the drivers I gave you for both devices should have worked.

See if manually installing the fingerprint sensor driver works...

Go to the device manager.   Click on the Unknown USB\VID_138A&PID_0018 device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp56957.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file, which shows W7 32 bit driver support for that ID:

[Validity.NTx86]
%VfsUsbDeviceName0018%=Biometric_Install, USB\VID_138A&PID_0018

I explored the chipset driver file and that one does not have W7 32 bit driver support, so use this driver instead from a HP business class notebook that has support for W7 32 bit...

Here is the W7 Simplepass software...

found the simplepass / network 4.5 info on other your other posts.  ha, a little more digging and I'd quit asking silly questions. this has turned into a job "updating" to 7 32bit. - now i've just got to get all the hardware hooked up... it's not sensing fingerprint reader, must be one of the drivers needing updating.
