I have a HP Laptop (2022). It has 1 HDMI port, 2 USB ports, and one USB-C Port. I have an HP Hub. I am trying to hook up the S3 dual monitors for laptops. I can get one screen to work, but not the other. How can I get both screens to work?

Hi @pmont5100
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for describing the setup—you’re so close to a great dual-monitor experience, and I’m here to help tie it all together! 😊 Let’s figure out whether your laptop’s USB-C port supports dual video output, as that’s the key to getting both screens lit up.
Could you share the following details to help narrow down compatibility?
📋 Info That Will Help Me Check Compatibility
- Exact model name or number of your laptop (e.g., “HP 15s-eqxxxx” or “HP Pavilion 15-egxxxxx”). You’ll often find this on a label on the bottom of the laptop or in System Information (Win + Pause/Break > look for “System SKU”).
- Full name or model of the HP Hub you’re using—some support dual monitors through DisplayLink, while others rely on pass-through.
- How the monitors are connected:
- Are both using HDMI?
- Are either connected via DisplayPort, USB-C, or a mix?
- Which ports are being used on the laptop currently (HDMI directly, USB-C via hub, etc.)
- Is the USB-C port marked with a thunderbolt icon (⚡) or labeled as supporting DisplayPort?
Once I have that info, I’ll check if your laptop’s USB-C port supports multiple external displays, and guide you step by step to make the dual-screen setup work flawlessly. Let’s crack this together and make it shine! 💻🖥️🖥️
Note: Do not share any of your personal information in public, such as serial number, phone number, email ID, etc.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
