I have only had my laptop for a few months. I've barely used it and it's, for the most part just sat on a table and been used occasionally. The other day I noticed when I shut it the screen was warped. The corners were touching the keyboard but the middle was curved up a good few millimeters. I did not notice this when I first got the laptop and don't believe it was like that when I received it. Also, the entire case on the backside of the screen seems to be curved outwards as well. I can push down on it and it pops back up like there is space between the inside of the screen and case. I remember it seeming a lot more solid when I got it. I have not used it enough or moved it around enough to have caused any kind of damage like this to it.

@RGB777 Greetings from the HP Community!
Here's what you need to do, to identify the issue and resolve it accordingly:
- If not done already, check if it works fine on the BIOS screen to identify if it's either a hardware or a software issue:
- If it works fine on the BIOS (Accessed while tapping F10 during a restart) it's a software issue & I suggest creating a new user account to check if that works better, for starters)
- However, if it doesn't work within the BIOS either, I'm afraid it's a hardware malfunction.
While you respond to that, I have a few more steps that should help:
Perform a power reset (no data loss) using these steps: Click here, proceed to next step if this works
Attempt to run a test from the HP hardware diagnostic tool, using this link: Click here for details.
If the issue appears on the diagnostics, it could again, determine a hardware failure,
If they don't appear on bios & the hardware tests passed: please update the BIOS & Chip-set drivers from the HP website using this link: Click here
if the issue persists, reinstall windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue,
use this link for details on performing the recovery: Click here

Sorry, but I think my post was misunderstood. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with how the laptop is working. The screen has physically curved slightly and the outer case seems to have separated on the inside from it. I have seen similar posts on this and would like to know if this is some kind of defect of the touch screen and what can be do about it. Thanks.

@RGB777 I appreciate the details, however, to understand this better, since you claim the device is physically curved, perhaps, you can include an attachment or a picture of your device?
Also, did you have any accidents with the device, that caused this issue?
Do let us know.

I am not home at the moment, but can send a photo in my next post. No, there has not been any accidents with the laptop. As I mentioned in my first post, I have barely used or even moved the laptop since I received it. Nothing that I know of could've caused this to happen. I just noticed it a few weeks ago when I closed the screen. When I pressed down on the top it pushed in then popped back up. Is that normal on a touchscreen? It's possible it was like that when I got it, but i remember it feeling more solid. Everything seems to be working fine overall. I just happened to search the issue and found a few posts on this site from people who had the same problem (at least one with the same Pavilion 15z) so I thought I would see if there was some issues with the screens.
