Actually managed to get through to HP and speak to an actual person about this and for once they were really helpful. Installed display driver uninstaller from guru3d.com removed all display drivers then reinstalled them. Said this is common issue with windows 11. Took around 40mins to do it all but it does seem to have solved the problem.
