My screen is also coming apart and I have only had it for just about two years. The hinge is broke and it does not close I do not know what happened. It was fine and I opened it today and heard a click, the screen had popped out on the right-hand side near the hinge. It seems that this *may* be a manufacturing fault from all the posts I have read with respect to this issue.

I honestly haven't been rough with it or done anything that might cause this. I love this laptop and treat it with extreme care. There is nothing to warrant the screen to come apart. I can't believe its broken.
I wonder if HP can repair this as It seems unreasonable to me that this should happen.
