Pavilion X2 10 Detachable
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hello everybody,
After factory restoring my HP Pavilion x2 10 (n-105nl) with HP recovery Manager almost all the drivers were missing so I went on the HP website and got the right ones.
But the stylus driver doesn't seem to be working, and I know it is not the pen because before the recovery it worked fine.
My question is, since there is not a specific driver for the stylus, where is it included, so that I could try older versions of it? Is there any other solution?
Thank you in advice.

I also mention that the touch screen is working perfectly and also, the same thing happened last time I did a recovery but I can't remember how I solved it.

Hi @CornelMic,

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you performed a recovery and the stylus is not responding after that. Glad to help.

Kudos to you for updating all the drivers.

Have you run HP Support Assistant?

May I know the model of the stylus you are using?

Recommend you to run HP Support Assistant to make sure all the drivers are updated, click here

Reseat the battery in the stylus and perform a calibration for the stylus on your computer. Click here

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you very much for your response,
I did run Hp Support Assistant and it did not find any new driver.
My stylus is an HP active stylus. I remember that I did some calibrations of my stylus in the past but now I notice that there is not even any option for that anymore.
There are three devices in Device Manager that seem to be not working, they all state "HID PCI Minidriver for ISS".
Do you think there might be any other solution? Will a recovery kit solve my issue? I am afraid that it would just reinstall windows in the same way the recovery function does, with no drivers.

Thank you for your time and your help.

Thanks for the reply and checking HP Support Assistant.

Recommend you to right click on HID PCI Minidriver for ISS and check for updates in the device manager.

Also, perform Windows updates to check if the necessary drivers.

Recommend you to install Media Feature Pack for Windows 10 from Microsoft website and check if it resolves the issue you are facing.

Keep me posted.

Thank you for your response.

Today I did another restore and the things are a bit better.

First of all, surprisingly this time all the drivers were  installed (not the styluses' though) and the HID PCI Minidrivers are ok now. I updated the BIOS to the latest version, I did windows update, I installed the media feature pack but the pen is still not working. This is frustrating because I know it is a software problem and I fixed it once but I can't remember how. If you have any other ideas please let me know.

Thank you again for your help.

Unfortunately, my stylus is not recognised at all so I could not perform a recalibration.

//UPDATE: after a restart the stylus started to work again!! Thank you for yout help! 😁
