This is a solution forum – take the advice if it works for you, and if it doesn't, move on. There's no need to question my qualifications. Attitudes like yours are why people hesitate to share their solutions. Be grateful instead of questioning others' achievements.
FYI, to answer your question (had you asked appropriately):
The driver in question is for a touchpad, not a traditional mouse. Synaptics develops touchpad technology for laptops, and while "Mouse" is in the name, it refers to the touchpad functioning as a pointing device.
If you have any further questions, ask with respect , instead of sounding snarky simply because you don't understand it.

Unfortunately, you recommended a Windows 11 driver for my
Windows 10 machine. Do you recognize this mistake?
I altered your search of the Catalog for Windows 10 and
found a driver version of 19.5.35.90 (12/14/22). It installed
properly, but it did not fix the issues with the touchpad.
I replied hastily to your post because the first few lines of
the post seemed to me to not be human-generated. I thought
I might be dealing with some new AI. I'm sorry for any
misunderstanding.

Hello again,
I have some new information. I decided to install Linux Mint 21.3
on the Envy X360. After a successful installation, I now receive
the following when I boot Mint:
ACPI BIOS ERROR (bug) Failure creating named object [\_TZ.ETMD}
AE_ALREADY_EXISTS 20210730/DSWLOAD2-326
ACPI ERROR: AE_ALREADY_ EXISTS DURING NAME LOOKUP/CATALOG (20210730/PSOBJECT-220)
i2c_hid_acpi i2c-syna328c:00: Failed to reset device
i2c_hid_acpi i2c-syna328c:00: Failed to reset device
" " " " " "
and so on...
I think "syna328c" refers to Synaptics - right?
Does fail to reset sound like software or hardware?

Hello,
GUESS WHAT????
After many reboots of Windows and both Mint versions,
suddenly the touchpad works - in Windows and Linux!!!
No changes completed other than installing the new Mint 21.3.
Flakey hardware??? We will see how long it lasts.

Hello,
How long will it last? Not long! It is misbehaving on all OS's.
I've posted to the Linux Mint forums for any advice.
