Hello. I'm Korean and using a translation tool.
The screen turns off irregularly (black screen) and comes back after about 3~6 seconds. Today, it turned off completely, and the monitor showed 'no signal'. When I disconnected and reconnected the DP cable, it came back on.
It happens more than 10 times a day, and sometimes it happens over 10 times within a single minute. It's driving me crazy these days.
I use a laptop(OMEN 17) with an Thunderbolt Dock G4 280w and connect it to only one monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440 at 144Hz, while keeping the laptop's monitor turned off. The issue occurs even when the refresh rate is set to 60Hz. (temperature where the computer is located is 29 degrees Celsius.)
The laptop and Thunderbolt dock firmware are up to date, and the issue seems to have started after upgrading the Thunderbolt dock firmware. The Thunderbolt dock G4 firmware version is currently 1.5.22 (latest), but it is not possible to downgrade. Please allow us to downgrade to version 1.3.x
Additional
* 2024-07-27, After connecting a 'Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Mini Dock' to the HP-Thunderbolt-G4's Thunderbolt port, and connecting a monitor via HDMI and LAN to the Belkin-mini-dock, everything has been working normally for two days.
Environment:
- Windows 11 home, version: 22H2, build: 22621.3880
- Laptop F/W: OMEN 17-ckxxxx, F.17 Rev.A, (2024.5.14)
- Dock F/W: Thunderbolt dock G4 280w(4J0G4AA), 1.5.22.0 Rev.1
- Also, all the latest drivers(for Windows11) have been installed through HP Support Assistant.
And, as mentioned in my previous post on the forum, there was an issue where the Thunderbolt dock wasn't recognized during boot. I haven't tested version 1.5.22 for this issue, but it kept happening with version 1.4.20. These days, I have to unplug the Thunderbolt power during boot, wait for the computer to finish booting, and then plug the Thunderbolt power back in. Please make a product that works properly.
