Touch screen stop working.
HID-complaint touch screen was grey on Device Manager.
Uninstalled I2CH Device and HID-complaint touch screen on Device Manager.
There were two I2C HID folders one of them with ! (yellow triangle), this one was uninstalled and immediately the HID-complaint touch screen which was grey under Hidden Drivers disapeared.
Clicked Action and Scan for hardware changes and I2C HID ! appeared again but not HID-complaint touch screen drive.
Tried to reinstall HID-complaint touch screen driver from HP website but version of windows 11 Home 25H2 which is in my PC was not available.
Installed latest 22H2 Intel Human Interface Device (HID) Event Filter Driver but it did not fix anything.
Any thought much appreciated.
Thank you.

I understand your HP ENVY 16-inch laptop’s touchscreen has stopped working and the HID-compliant touch screen driver has disappeared from Device Manager. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
Run Windows Update
Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates.
Install all available updates, including Optional driver updates.
This can reinstall missing touch or HID drivers compatible with your Windows 11 version.
Enable Hidden Devices View
Open Device Manager → View → Show hidden devices.
Expand Human Interface Devices and check if the HID-compliant touch screen appears (even faint or greyed out).
If visible, right-click it and select Enable device.
Reinstall the I2C HID Controller Driver
In Device Manager, expand System devices.
Right-click both Intel(R) I2C HID Device entries (especially the one with the yellow triangle) and select Uninstall device.
Restart your laptop and let Windows automatically reinstall them.
The touchscreen driver depends on this controller to function correctly.
Install HP Drivers Manually via HP Support Assistant
Open HP Support Assistant and click My devices → Updates.
Check for firmware, chipset, and input-related driver updates.
If available, install Intel Serial IO and Touch Firmware updates — they often restore touchscreen functionality.
Reset BIOS Settings
Turn off your laptop, then press Esc repeatedly and choose F10 (BIOS Setup).
In BIOS, press F9 to Load Setup Defaults, then press F10 to Save and Exit.
After reboot, check if the touchscreen works.
Run HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics
Turn off the laptop, then press Esc repeatedly and choose F2 (System Diagnostics).
Select Component Tests → Touch Screen Test and follow the on-screen steps.
If the test fails, it indicates a possible hardware or firmware issue.
Reinstall Chipset and Intel HID Event Filter Driver (22H2 version)
Even though your system is on 25H2, try installing the 22H2 Intel HID Event Filter Driver from HP’s site again after the chipset drivers.
Restart the system afterward — the touch driver may reappear after this sequence.
I hope this helps.
