HP Pavilion - 15-cc100tx
Microsoft Windows 11

I have upgraded to Windows 11 around six months back. From the day I upgraded, my touchpad started behaving weirdly. The two-finger scroll and two-finger click for double click don't work. I have even re-installed the drivers.  But the problem persists. I don't face any issues with normal left and right clicks on the touchpad. Recently, I've been facing issues with Adobe Reader. If I try to rename a file after closing it (other documents are open in Adobe Reader in other tabs), an error shows that the file is still in use. The renaming process is complete only if I close the Adobe Reader and refresh it a few times

Hi @Divakarsenthil ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're dealing with a couple of issues on your HP Pavilion 15-cc100tx. Let’s tackle them one at a time:

Touchpad Issue

Driver Check: Ensure that the touchpad driver is up-to-date and compatible with Windows 11. Sometimes, the latest drivers might not be compatible with the new OS. You can check the HP website or the touchpad .HP site for the latest drivers.

Touchpad Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
  • Check if the touchpad gestures are enabled and properly configured. Sometimes, settings might reset after an upgrade.

Uninstall and Reinstall Driver:

  • Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select Device Manager).
  • Find your touchpad under Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Right-click and select Uninstall device. Restart your computer, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

Touchpad Software: Some HP laptops use specific touchpad software like Synaptics or ELAN. Check if you have that software installed and if it needs updating. Sometimes, it might offer more advanced settings and troubleshooting options.

Adobe Reader Issue

File Locking: The issue with Adobe Reader might be related to how the program handles file locks. When you try to rename a file that’s still open in Adobe Reader, the application might not release the lock on the file immediately.

Update Adobe Reader: Make sure you’re using the latest version of Adobe Reader. Updates often fix bugs and improve compatibility.

File Access Issues:

  • Ensure that you don’t have multiple tabs open with the same file in Adobe Reader.
  • Try closing all documents in Adobe Reader before renaming files to avoid lock issues.

Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows 11 is fully updated as well, as updates might address compatibility issues with certain applications.

Adobe Reader Settings:

  • Check Adobe Reader settings for any file handling options that might be affecting file access.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
