My touchpad has been not working on and off for the past couple of weeks. Either it is unresponsive completely, where the cursor does not show on the screen at all, or it is very laggy and clicks when i have not pressed the touchpad. It also sometimes works completely fine. I have tried updating drivers and even deleted them and restarted my laptop, which has not worked. I have looked through all the touchpad/mouse settings and changing them, which has not worked. I have running HP diagnostics but did not give me any information as my cursor was so unresponsive I couldn’t even start the tests. What should I try next? I’m worried that since this problem is so on-and-off if I take it to get repaired it will start working in that moment and I will not get any help.

As you have already tried the troubleshooting steps, this could be a hardware issue with the unit and may need repair.

Yes bro i had the same issue i texted an engineer he also said me to update drivers and all but it didnt fix i had to reset my spectre but im still not very sure if it fixed my problem. 

Youll probably be having scratch issues too . 

Just so many issues coming up as we use it
