HP EliteBook 830 G7 (8PV73AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, desperately trying to use two external AOC screens with my HP Elitebook 830 G7 and a mini UBB-C HP Dock.

I saw that the dock can't stand two simultaneously working screen on the dock using both VGA & HDMI input but the vendor was sure it was ok to get 3 screens (notebook + 2 external) or 2 screens (notebook + 1 external or notebook closed and 2 external).

Tried a lot of things but never reached the point where I could keep my notebook closed and use two external screens (extended use). Same for 3 screens.

Tried HDMI dock + HDMI notebook

Tried VGA Dock + HDMI notebook

Best I could do is get my laptop screen + one external. But NEED either 3 or just the two external screens to work as a single desktop (extended).

Searched a lot and applied a "kind of magic" process from here with connecting/starting screens and notebook in a specific order + W+b keyboard thing. It did not work.

Any idead on what I should do to make ot happen ?

Please help, I don't know what to do...

The HP USB-C mini dock only supports

Only single display supported

  • HDMI: 4096 x 2160 @ 30Hz
  • VGA: 1920 x 1080

You can't use both at the same time.

Regards.

The usb-c mini dock cannont handle dual display as shown on the user guide, I agree.

The question is, can we have external dual display (and how) using HDMI port from the notebook and HDMI or  VGA port from the dock ?
