USB-C dock no display

Greetings everyone.

I tried several USB-C dockingstations with HDMI/DP ports but i cannot get it to work with my HP Pavilion.

Doublechecking the specs ( https://support.hp.com/au-en/product/hp-pavilion-15-cs0000-laptop-pc/20284004/model/22779971/documen...) it should be good: "1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.2..."

Do i need a specific driver to make it work? I installed the newest BIOS and Graphics driver (from Nvidia homepage)

The last dock i tried is an Anker powerexpand 11 if that matters at all.

Can somebody help me with that problem?

Looks like your USB-C dock is NOT compatible with your machine. What is it ? The specs of your machine is

I know the HP USB-C Gen 5 dock should work with your machine.

The Gen5 dock is not available anymore (except on amazon and the like for 500€ what is way to expensive in my opinion).

I tried the HP mini dock (https://store.hp.com/GermanyStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=1PM64AA&opt=AC3&sel=ACC) and it didn't work either.

My current dock supports DP1.2 (and up) which matches the specs on your posted sheet.

Can you tell me what specs else have to match? Because i am not willing to buy a 500€ dock (even the 160 stating from HP store would be too high for my needs)

I contacted the Anker support and tried to clarify with them. This is the answer i got:

"And yes, the information about the USB C port on your HP laptop is helpful and enough ( USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.2). "

So it should work with this USB dock but it does not.

Are you really sure that the provided specs are correct? Is there a way i can read the informations with Windows of the USB ports?

Are you sure i do not need a HP software to make it use?
