Hi!
I own a HP ZBook 14u G5 and tried to connect it to an external monitor using a USB-C to HDMI adaptor that's in use in another laptop without any problem (a HP ZBook 14u G6).
The USB-C adaptor is being identified by the OS and the driver is installed successfully, but the monitor is not being identified.
I've already tried:
- HP UEFI Diagnostics - Component Tests - all passed
- The USB Test doesn't support tests on USB-C
- HP Support Assistant - Updates - no updates available / everything up-to-date
- HP SoftPaq Download Manager (v4.4.0.0 - SSM 3.2.11.1) - Updates - no updates available / everything up-to-date
- Follow suggetions from and none worked:
What else can I try to solve this issue?
Computer information:
- HP ZBook 14u G5
- Windows 10 64bit - version 2004 - 10.0.19041
- BIOS HP Q78 Ver. 01.10.01, 02/03/2020
- Graphic Card 1 - Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 - driver 26.20.100.7757
- Graphic Card 2 - Radeon Pro WX 3100 - driver 26.20.14001.50001
- Universal Serial Bus - BillBoard Device - driver Microsoft 10.0.19041.1

Replying to my own question after several attempts to debug this issue and solve it:
After restoring the computer (format and OS reinstall) the problem wasn't solved.
Requested to some friends other USB-C / HDMI adaptors, and found one that works!
Conclusion: Always test using different adaptors!
