Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have the laptop HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dw1xxx

I tried to use usb-c port to connect DELL S2723HC monitor which has power delivery and some more ports. When I plug it in my laptop is being charged and mouse connected to monitor also works, but picture is not shown. On monitor I can see 'Scanning for signal' message and after that 'No USB-C signal from your device'

My wife also has HP, but for her it works fine with the same cable and monitor. Also my laptop works fine with this monitor when I use HDMI cable instead.

Based on this page, I also provide System SKU of my device - 315F7EA#ACB

Your machine is an HP Pavilion 14-dw1014ur (why in Canada) anyway its specs

            https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c06986707

It has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge) port which support both

  • Charging from USB-C using compatible charger
  • Connect to external monitor using USB-C monitors or USB-C to DP cables.

Sounds like the Dell monitor id NOT compatible with your machine by some reasons which I don't know but I know for sure your machine is a good candidate for HP USB-C G5 dock

Note: From its specs, DELL S2723HC monitor is a good solution because it charges your machine.

Regards.
