This did not work for me. I believe the latest Windows update is the culprit. Registry changes made. Still can't type around that darn pad. I have this beautiful PC and can't type. Looks like I will have to find something to tape over the touchpad. $2000 and it can't be used.

@reluctantexan Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
For an accurate solution I'll need more details:
What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: Click here
(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.)
Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?
When was the last time it worked without these issues?
Have you attempted a system restore?
Please reply with the details for further assistance.
Eager to help!
To thank me for my efforts to help you,
feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon
And Have a great day Ahead!

Over the years my household had purchased many, many hp products. Over the years the company, like all companies, has changed. Now, if I buy a product, I have to stumble through a forum to get an offer of technical support. This is not the way I want to spend my money. Nor do I want to spend time going back and forth with you on this problem. I will find my own answer. If you need to mark it on your list, mark it forever unresolved. I am not a happy customer and won't be.
Save your money people. Buy from another company, if there are any left which offer real support in a timely manner for their products. Oh, and go directly to the company itself for tech support, not this forum.

@reluctantexan I understand your concern and I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP.
They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number.
Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact.
Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
