HP Envy Notebook 15-as106nb
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So, I literally bought this laptop today. (HP Envy Notebook 15-as106nb)

I had the same issue the day before since I bought it the first time yesterday.
I've had to return it to the store and get another one thinking it wouldn't have the same issue since it's basically brand new.

When watching videos on Netflix, youtube,... sometimes, a white 'static' line appears for like a second and then disappears again. I get it like, once every 20 mins or so?
Or, I've also experienced that the screen would just move about less than an inch for a second as well and then returning to normal. I must say I haven't seen the lines appear while opening the internet for example.

Since it's new, and happened twice with two different laptops (the same type), I don't think it's just my bad luck.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Hey there! @CVxx, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you have display issues with your laptop.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Does the issue persist in BIOS?

As you mentioned you get horizontal 'static' lines on the display.

If the issue does not persist in BIOS try updating the graphics driver and BIOS on your PC.

Uninstall the graphics driver from device manager and install the latest drivers and BIOS from the links below.

Update the graphics driver using this link.

Thanks for the reply 🙂

It came straight out of the box and the first thing I checked was the videos to see if the lines were there (which was a yes)

So no, I hadn't made any changes in the software/hardware.

After updating the BIOS the lines clearly disappeared. However, now, the screen skips/stutters for like a few milliseconds.

Still, I am very thankful!

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

As you mentioned after updating BIOS you see the screen skips and stutters for few seconds.

Did you try updating the graphics drivers from the links from my previous thread?

Also, update the other drivers on your PC using HP support assistant and check if it helps.
