Hi there,
I ended up on the HP website going support -> Software and Drivers
then entering the machine model in the search box
then selecting the specific model.
in the list of available downloads was the firmware driver.
The bad news is that I have just tried this and connot find the driver any more.
I fear that I had installed the driver in a fit of enthusiasm before the pen arrived, so I dont know whether the issues you are seeing were resolved by the firmware update or not.
with regards
Richard

I am also unable to locate the firmware update.
Since your pen is recognized by the touchscreen, I suggest you go to the control panel.
In the search box type in Pen.
Click on the Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.
Calibrate your active pen.

the pen/screen calibration fix is a dead end. I've tried that and a dozen other prescribed fixes by HP and Microsoft. The only thing that fixed the problem was the firmware driver, which appears to have been recalled. Maybe because the executable failed to install, unless you unzipped/extracted and manually ran the batch file. Hopefully they'll re-release a fixed driver file soon.
But I can confirm, that firmware driver fixed my problem and that nothing else did.

I will ask my internal contacts if it can be made available.
It was already there. Use the following url.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp69001-69500/sp69037.exe

I contacted HP support almost a month ago about this. It has been escalated to 3rd level and was told today that engineers are still working on it.
So HP still doesn't have a working solution for the 15" model. Both Dell and HP stylus work fine on 13" models. Dissapointing to see that HP has released a new Spectre X360 model without even testing stylus operation.

thanks for that.
it didn't work. it installs and tells no there is no "link".
I have just found out that if i press the screen VERY VERY HARD, then it accepts the pen commands. (selecting fields or tabs is very good and sensative, but it won't register the command

HP posted a new firmware that actually works now. The file is sp74836.exe available on HP driver web site listed as "HP FHD Touchscreen Controller Firmware". My Dell Venue Active Stylus is now working perfectly.
